Climbing 201 covers basic skills needed for recreational rock climbing. It builds upon Climbing 101 by introducing ways to set up basic sport anchors and the fundamental concepts in building anchors. It also covers the important skill of rappelling and safety measures for rappelling. Lastly, it covers key knots that are widely used in the sport.

Students attending climbing 201 should have attended climbing 101, or should be comfortable with basic climbing safety equipment, knots, and belaying.

You will learn:

  • Basic top-rope anchor construction

  • Anchor cleaning

  • Rappelling

  • Rappel back-ups

  • More knots and technique

Classes require a minimum of 2 students to operate and are capped at 6 students. In the event there are not enough students to participate, you will be given the option to reschedule or accept a refund.
